Mwamba Media Creator Program

Talent is
everywhere.
Opportunity is not.

Mwamba Media creates a professional route for talented young Tanzanians to enter livestreaming, short-form content and the creator economy—through fair selection, serious training, real tools and compensated pilots.

Applications are open year-roundNo application fee · No professional experience required

Why we are doing this

A lesson I brought home from Kenya.

During my international volunteer work in Kenya, I joined youth talent discovery and dialogue in an under-resourced community. One after another, young people stepped forward to sing, dance and speak. Their energy was real. Their confidence was real.

But when the activity ended, most of them walked away without training, equipment, a platform or a clear route into work. The problem was not a lack of talent. The missing piece was a system connecting talent to opportunity.

That experience changed how I think about youth development. Young people do not need empty encouragement. They need to be seen fairly, trained seriously, given real tools and allowed to prove themselves.

That is one reason I am building Mwamba Media in Tanzania: to create a disciplined bridge between raw talent and real opportunity.

What we plan to do

Discover. Develop.
Create real value.

01

Find overlooked talent

A rigorous three-round audition identifies presence, communication, personality and creative potential—not followers or expensive equipment.

02

Develop it through practice

Selected candidates enter compensated training and pilots using company accounts, equipment and professional support.

03

Build a connected business

Livestreams build audience and income. Short videos turn Tanzanian business, culture and tourism into opportunities in content, consulting, travel services and product sales.

Why we believe we can succeed

Do simple things well.
Again and again.

We combine Tanzania’s young-population advantage with years of experience from China’s creator industry—then keep improving the work that matters.

A young, cross-cultural team

Our highly educated young founding team includes members who studied in China and Türkiye—bringing ambition, responsibility and an international perspective to management and content creation.

Scientific talent selection

A rigorous, repeatable system identifies promising people across schools, cities and recruitment rounds—turning Tanzania’s large young population into a lasting talent advantage.

A repeatable training system

We adapt years of experience from China’s creator and livestream industry into structured training, guided practice and continuous improvement.

How we choose to work

Do the right things.
Do things right.

An enduring company needs a sound business model, capable people and a strong culture—a principle our founder admires in Warren Buffett and Duan Yongping.

Benfen (本分) is the culture Duan established at BBK and carried forward by BBK, OPPO, vivo and Pinduoduo. It has helped these companies build for the long term. Mwamba Media takes its simplest expression as a founding principle: do the right things, and do things right.

A real African creator story

Wode
Maya.

Ghana → China → Africa → the world

Wode Maya began as a Ghanaian aeronautical-engineering student in China. In 2013, he started making videos about his experience and challenging stereotypes. He did not begin as a celebrity; he began with a camera, a point of view and the discipline to keep publishing.

He later travelled across Africa to show its cultures, people and entrepreneurs. His YouTube audience grew beyond one million, and in 2023 he was invited to cover the World Economic Forum in Davos. A student with a camera had built a profession, a platform and global influence.
